According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in April 2023, in comparison with the previous month was 100.7, while the Retail price index was 101.4.

An increase in the Consumer Price Index in April 2023, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in cigarettes by 8.1%, fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 2.0%, meat by 1.4%, wine by 1.2%, coffee, tea and cocoa by 0.5%, mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices, spirits by 0.4%, fish and seafood by 0.2%.

In April, there was also an increase in the indices of passenger transport by air by 42.4%, package holidays by 8.4%, paramedical services by 6.7%, pets and related products by 5.4%, recreational and sporting services by 3.3%, footwear by 2.7%, repair of audio-visual, photographic and information processing equipment by 2.4%, games, toys and hobbies by 2.2%, garments, repair and hire of footwear by 2.1%, repair of household appliances by 2.0%, other personal effects by 1.7%, cleaning, repair and hire of clothing, bicycles, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 1.3%, passenger transport by road by 1.1%, information processing equipment, accommodation services by 1.0%, hairdressing salons and personal grooming establishments by 0.9%, clothing materials, major household appliances, major tools and equipment, restaurants, caffes and the like by 0.8%, services for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling, furniture and furnishings by 0.7%, actual rentals paid by tenants, dental services by 0.6%, repair of furniture, furnishings and floor coverings by 0.4%, motor cars, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.3%, domestic services and household services, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation, other services n.e.c. by 0.2%.

A decrease in the Consumer Price index in April 2023, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in oils and fats by 6.5%, fresh or chilled fruit by 3.2%, milk by 3.4%, cheese and curd, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 1.5%, bread and cereals, food products n.e.c. by 0.4% and beer by 0.3%.

In April 2023, there was also a decrease of the indices of liquid fuels for household by 4.9%, gardens, plants and flowers by 3.0%, gas for household by 2.9%, small tools and miscellaneous accessories by 1.3%, other appliances, articles and products for personal care by 1.2%, household textiles by 0.8%, books by 0.7%, small electric household appliances by 0.5%, fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 0.4%, equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture by 0.3%.

The Consumer Price Index in April 2023, in comparison with April 2022, increased by 13.0%, while Retail Price Index increased by 10.1%.
