The head of the Prime Minister’s Office stated at a routine news briefing that this year, Hungary’s economy is anticipated to avoid recession and expand by 1.5%. According to Gergely Gulyás, the government’s top aims for 2023 are to reduce inflation, save jobs, and prevent a recession. Energy is essential to the industrial and agricultural development needed for long-term growth, he said. In a recent three-day cabinet meeting, the government prioritized energy strategy, he said. Nuclear energy will continue to play a significant role in Hungary under the national energy policy until 2030, which was outlined at the meeting by Energy Minister Csaba Lantos, along with the growth of solar energy and energy networks, Gulyás said.
