STEEL PRODUCTION IN TÜRKİYE

In June 2022, Türkiye’s crude steel production was 2.9 million tons with a decrease of 13.1% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first half of the year, production decreased by 4.6% to 18.9 million tons.

STEEL CONSUMPTION

Final product consumption in June was 2.6 million tons with an increase of 0.5% compared to the same month of 2021, and 17 million tons with a decrease of 3.4% in the first 6 months of the year.

FOREIGN TRADE

Export

In June, exports of steel products amounted to 1.5 million tons with a decrease of 17.9% in terms of quantity and 1.6 billion dollars with an increase of 4.7% in terms of value.

In the January-June period, compared to the same period of 2021, exports amounted to 8.5 million tons with a decrease of 8.1% in quantity, and 8.3 billion dollars with an increase of 25% in value.

Imports

Compared to the same month of 2021, imports in June increased to 1.3 million tons with an increase of 9.6% in terms of quantity and $ 1.5 billion in terms of value, with an increase of 29.1%.

In the first half of 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, imports amounted to 7.7 million tons with a 5.9% decrease in quantity and 8.5 billion dollars with an increase of 28% in value.

Foreign Trade Balance

The ratio of exports to imports, which was 100.5% in the first half of 2021, decreased to 97.9% in the same period of this year.
