South Korea’s Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho disclosed on Monday that the country’s government is interested in strengthening the bilateral cooperation between Seoul and Washington in the semiconductor industry following the President Yoon Suk Yeol’s visit to the United States.

“Focusing on the three key areas of the semiconductor industry, including next-generation chips, South Korea will seek joint projects, as well as a cooperative forum between the government and the private sector, building the ground for the world’s leading chip alliance,” the finance minister underscored.

“While the inflation in the South Korean economy is slowing, with the domestic consumption also recovering gradually, challenges linger in exports and investment,” Choo stressed.
