Istanbul Wage Livelihood Index, which reflects retail prices and increased by 3.10% in November 2022, increased by 2.94% in December 2022 as well.

In December 2022, there were increase a 7.04 percent in Health and Personal Care Expenditures, 3.89 percent in Houseware Expenditures, 3.82 percent in Housing Expenditures, 3.07% in Other Expenditures, 3.06% in Food Expenditures, 1.18 percent in Clothing Expenditures, a 0.50 percent increase in Culture, Education and Entertainment Expenditures. A decrease of -3.09 percent was observed in the Transportation and Communication Expenditures group.

In determining the December 2022 price index in Istanbul; The price increases for some products in the Health and Personal Care and Household Goods Expenditures groups, the seasonal effect observed in the Food Expenditure Fresh and Dry Vegetables and Fruits group, and the variable consumption weights used in the index.

In the December 2022 price index, upward changes were observed in all expenditure groups except for the Transportation and Communications group.

In December 2022, the rate of change compared to the same month of the previous year was 92.97%, and the annual average rate of change was 88.03%.
