The female worker can take unpaid leave for up to 16 weeks due to her pregnancy and up to 6 months upon request after 18 weeks in case of multiple pregnancies. The period of 6 months of unpaid leave due to birth is not taken into account in the calculation of annual paid leave.

Also, this leave is given to one of the spouses or adoptive parents in case of adopting a child under the age of three.

The employer or the representative of the employer who employs pregnant women who have given birth or who do not give unpaid leave during the periods before and after the delivery will be imposed the administrative fine.
