According to data released by Statistics Finland, Finland’s unemployment rate reached its highest level in almost a year in April. The jobless rate rose to 7.9 percent, up from 6.9 percent in March and the same rate as the previous year. This marks the highest unemployment rate since May 2022. The number of unemployed individuals increased from 193,000 in the previous month to 222,000 in April. Youth unemployment, for individuals aged 15 to 24, also surged to an 11-month high of 22.6 percent. Additionally, the employment rate slightly declined from 63.3 percent to 63.2 percent in April.
