According to the provisional data, produced with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Trade, in June 2025; exports were 20 billion 515 million dollars with a 7.9% increase and imports were 28 billion 688 million dollars with a 15.2% increase compared with June 2024.
Exports and import increased by 4.1%, 7.2% respectively in January-June 2025
In January-June 2025 period, exports were 131 billion 408 million dollars with a 4.1% increase and imports were 180 billion 845 million dollars with a 7.2% increase compared with January-June 2024.

In June 2025, foreign trade deficit was 8 billion 173 million dollars with a 38.8% increase compared with June 2024. In June 2025, exports coverage imports was 71.5%, while it was 76.4% in June 2024.

In January-June 2025 period, foreign trade deficit was 49 billion 437 million dollars with a 16.3% increase compared with January-June 2024. In the same period, exports coverage imports was 72.7%, while it was 74.8% in January-June 2024.

In June 2025, according to economic activities, the ratios of manufacturing industries products, agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining and quarrying in total exports were 94.8%, 2.9%, 1.7%, respectively.
In January-June 2025 period, according to economic activities, the ratios of manufacturing industries products, agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining and quarrying in total exports were 94.2%, 3.6%, 1.6%, respectively.
The ratio of intermediate goods in total imports was 67.6% in June 2025
In June 2025, according to the BEC classification, the ratios of intermediate goods, capital goods and consumption goods in total imports were 67.6%,14.6%,17.6%, respectively.
In January-June 2025 period, according to the BEC classification, the ratios of intermediate goods, capital goods and consumption goods in total imports were 69.7%,13.9%,16.3%, respectively.

In June 2025, the main partner country for exports was Germany with 1 billion 728 million dollars. The country was followed by United Kingdom with 1 billion 266 million dollars, USA with 1 billion 197 million dollars, Italy with 1 billion 70 million dollars and France with 890 million dollars. The ratio of the first five countries in total exports was 30.0% in June 2025.
In January-June 2025 period, the main partner country for exports was Germany with 10 billion 915 million dollars. The country was followed by United Kingdom with 8 billion 164 million dollars, USA with 7 billion 837 million dollars, Italy with 6 billion 662 million dollars and Iraq with 5 billion 636 million dollars. The ratio of the first five countries in total exports was 29.8% in January-June 2025.

In June 2025, the top country for Türkiye’s imports was China with 3 billion 831 million dollars. The country was followed by Russia with 3 billion 316 million dollars, Germany with 2 billion 698 million dollars, USA with 1 billion 468 million dollars, Switzerland with 1 billion 117 million dollars. The ratio of first five countries in total imports was 43.3% in June 2025.
In January-June 2025 period, the top country for Türkiye’s imports was China with 23 billion 956 million dollars. The country was followed by Russia with 21 billion 705 million dollars, Germany with 14 billion 642 million dollars, USA with 8 billion 259 million dollars, Italy with 7 billion 984 million dollars. The ratio of first five countries in total imports was 42.3% in January-June 2025.

In June 2025, while seasonally and calendar adjusted exports decreased by 6.1%, imports increased by 1.8% compared with previous month. In June 2025, calendar adjusted exports and imports increased by 3.6%, 9.6% respectively compared with June 2024.

Foreign trade by technology intensity covers the manufacturing industries’ products in classification of ISIC Rev.4. According to the ISIC Rev.4, the ratio of manufacturing industries products in total exports was 94.8% in June 2025.The ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries exports was 3.0%.The ratio of manufacturing industries products in total exports was 94.2% in January-June 2025. In January-June 2025 period, the ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries exports was 3.5%.
The ratio of manufacturing industries products in total imports was 83.5%. The ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries’ imports was 10.0% in June 2025. The ratio of manufacturing industries’ products in total imports was 80.4% in January-June 2025. The ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries’ imports was 10.9% in January-June 2025.

According to the special trade system, in June 2025, exports were 18 billion 408 million dollars with a 7.7% increase and imports were 26 billion 117 million dollars with a 14.9% increase compared with June 2024.
In June 2025 foreign trade deficit was 7 billion 710 million dollars with a 36.8% increase compared with June 2024. Exports coverage imports was 70.5%, while it was 75.2% in June 2024.
Exports were 119 billion 362 million dollars in January-June 2025
According to the special trade system, exports were 119 billion 362 million dollars with a 4.6% increase and imports were 168 billion 775 million dollars with a 7.2% increase compared with January-June 2024.
In January-June 2025 period, foreign trade deficit was 49 billion 413 million dollars with a 14.3% increase compared with January-June 2024. Exports coverage imports was 70.7%, while it was 72.5% in January-June 2024.

EXPLANATIONS
Foreign trade statistics are calculated according to two different trade systems, general trade system and special trade system.In the general trade system, goods entering and leaving the economic area of a country are covered. In this system, free zones, customs warehouses and goods entering or leaving the free circulation area, which constitute the economic area of the country, are included in the calculations.In the special trade system, customs warehouses and free zones are not included in the statistics, only goods entering and leaving the country’s free circulation area are covered.
In this context, in order to ensure consistency with economic statistics such as balance of payments and national accounts calculations, foreign trade statistics, which is produced by Turkish Statistical Institute in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, have been published according to the general trade system in detail from January 2020. In addition, statistics according to the special trade system have been published in the press release and additional tables.
