2.3% decrease in sales in retail trade excluding fuels – June 2025 in Belgium

Compared to May 2025, the volume of sales in most major trade sectors decreased , except in Retail sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores.

Compared to the previous month, the volume of sales in retail trade, excluding fuels, has, decreased by 2.3% in June 2025.

In the major trade sectors, we register a decrease of 4.8% in Retail sale of other household equipment in specialised stores, of 3.7% in de Retail sale in non-specialised stores with food, beverages or tobacco predominating, van 3.0% in Retail sale of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods in specialised stores and of 2.5% in Retail sale of other goods in specialised stores

The only increase occurred in Retail sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores with an increase of 0.8%.

Retail trade remained stable in its volume compared to June 2024.

Compared to June 2024, the volume of sales in retail trade, excluding fuels, has remained stable.

As for the major trade sectors, there was a decrease of 3.0% in Retail sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores, of 1.9% in Retail sale of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods in specialised stores, of 1.1% in Retail sale in non-specialised stores with food, beverages or tobacco predominating, of 0.7% in Retail sale of other goods in specialised stores and of 0.4% in Retail sale of other household equipment in specialised stores
