Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products, June 2020 in Turkey

Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 0.45%, on December of the previous year increased  by 8.49%, on same month of the previous year increased by 14.50% and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 14.29% in June 2020.

Compared to the previous month in sectors; products of agriculture, hunting and related services increased by 0.40%, forestry products and related services increased by 1.58% and fishing products and other fishing products increased by 1.74%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; non-perennial crops decreased by 0.78%, live animals and animal products increased by 0.35% and perennial crops increased by 2.96%.

The lowest annual increase was 2.42% in poultry, live and eggs subgroup

In June 2020, vegetables and melons, roots and tubers where lowest annual increase realized with 5.60% on the same month of the previous year. On the other hand, rice (in hulk) with 21.77%, cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with 21.23% and fibre plants with 19.36% were the subgroups where high annual increases realized on the same month of the previous year.

The highest monthly decrease was 9.31% in poultry, live and eggs subgroup

In June 2020, the other group that indicated a decrease was vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 2.67% amongst the subgroups. On the other hand, sheep and goats live; raw milk and shorn wool from sheep and goats with 3.72%, rice (in hulk) with 2.91% and oleaginous fruits with 2.59% were the subgroups where high monthly increases realized.

In June 2020 within average prices of 82 items in the index; the average prices of 23 items decreased and the average prices of 8 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 51 items increased.
